5 Must-Read Books About Wellness
I’ve always loved a traditional paperback book even though I was not the fastest or strongest reader in school.
Something about the smell of a book on a shelf, a collection of beautiful covers and endless words that tell a story, share insight, teach a lesson. I’ve been drawn in by book shops and libraries since I was young, always buying more books with the hope to read them all one day.
When people think “wellness,” they most commonly think of eating well, exercising, and all that good stuff. Thankfully, however, mental wellness is truly pulling into the forefront of the wellness world, and now more than ever people are really asking themselves what they can do to calm their mind. For me, that is reading and writing.
I wrote my first book, a biography about my father titled The Paper Boy: An Oral History of a Living Legend, My Dad, Tim Busch in 2018, and I wrote my first children’s book, Pixie & Goldie: Unlikely Friends later that year. You can learn more about both of them on my website, www.kenzievath.com. They also make excellent gifts! Hudson loves reading Pixie and Goldie to Brooklyn.
In honor of National Book Lovers Day yesterday (August 9), I wanted to share my five must-read books about wellness:
Head Strong: The Bulletproof Plan to Activate Untapped Brain Energy to Work Smarter and Think Faster—In Just Two Weeks by Dave Asprey
Spontaneous Healing: How to Discover and Embrace Your Body’s Natural Ability to Maintain and Heal Itself by Andrew Weil, M.D.
The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living by His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler, M.D.
WomanCode: Perfect Your Cycle, Amplify Your Fertility, Supercharge Your Sex Drive, and Become a Power Source by Alisa Vitti
How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence by Michael Pollan
